Sanyo's New Xacti J4
Sanyo’s newest camera the Xacti VPC-J4. has a 4 mega pixel CCD that outputs interpolated images equivalent to 8 mega pixel, and a bright, 2.8x inner optical zoom lens F2.7 achieves high-speed zooming in around 1.5 seconds. The Xacti J4 also records VGA-size 640 x 480 video clips at 30 fps with simultaneous audio, for viewing quality equivalent to that of DVD
Realtime Interpolation
Our original algorithm uses three pixel-interpolation filters to convert the
CCD's 4.0 effective megapixels to the recorded equivalent of about 8 megapixels.
As well as being able to print out a detailed image very clearly, even on
A3-size paper, you can also enlarge part of an image without sacrificing image
fidelity.

Super Macro
In wide angle mode, you can get as close as 2 cm from your subject and still
capture it in stunningly clear detail. Thanks to the super macro function,
close-ups are now easier than ever.
Adapted 5 Point AF
This mode gives priority to a picture's composition, and prevents off-center
shots where the subject is out of focus, by automatically conducting distance
measurements for a center area and five points within it at the top, bottom,
left, right and center.
Assist Light for Easy Auto Focus
The Xacti J4's high-intensity white LED provides the extra luminance you need
when taking close-ups in low light conditions. It also assists in calibrating
the auto focus range in low light conditions, when distances are normally
difficult to measure.
Natural Movie
The Xacti J4 records VGA-size (640 x 480) video clips at 30 fps with
simultaneous audio, for viewing quality equivalent to that of DVD. With the
Xacti J4, you'll enjoy smooth, high-quality video clips without frame-skipping,
even on a big screen. Plus, you're free to select the recording rate and
resolution that best meets your needs. With a 512MB SD card, you get
approximately 5 minutes 45 seconds of recording at 640 x 480 pixels/30 fps, and
approximately 1 hour 23 minutes at 160 x 120 pixels/15fps. Another Xacti J4
advantage is the ability to use the zoom while shooting video clips. Now it's
easier and more fun than ever to shoot consistently beautiful images and share
the joy of your movies with friends and family.
High Speed Zoom
The bright, highly-advanced, 2.8x inner optical zoom lens (F2.7) achieves
high-speed zooming of around 1.5 seconds. Along with the 4x digital zoom, it
provides a maximum zooming capability of approximately 11x. The Xacti J4
starts up fast, thanks to its inner zoom lens — a non-protruding optical zoom
lens. Turn on the camera, and around 0.8*1 seconds later you can start taking
pictures. With a between-shot interval of around 1.5 seconds*1, you can take
photos in quick succession without having to wait a long time for the previous
image to be saved. The fast-responding Xacti J4 takes the stress out of
shooting, and ensures you get the images you want. And when it comes to playing
back your recorded images, the approximately 0.5 second playback interval*2 lets
you rapidly review the pictures you've already taken. *1 For still shots in
[4M] Fine mode without flash. *2 For still shots in [4M] Normal mode.
