Concord Camera Corp. Names BoonHow Chong Vice President Worldwide Quality
March 4,2004 Concord Camera Corp. ("Concord" or "Company") (NASDAQ: LENS) today announced the appointment of BoonHow Chong to the newly created position of Vice President, Worldwide Quality
Mr. Chong brings to Concord more than 22 years of experience in Quality, Reliability and Customer Service gained with leading global companies such as Acer Technologies, Hewlett-Packard and Motorola.
Throughout his career, Mr. Chong has led and achieved several ISO 9000 certifications and has applied and advanced Total Quality Management initiatives. Additionally he initiated a Customer Alliance Program that resulted in the receipt of two vendor quality awards.
He implemented a Strategy Planning Process and created a China Service Quality Brand for a Customer Service Network in China and developed a Customer Satisfaction Center to handle field returns. Mr. Chong received the "Best Customer Advocate Award" from Motorola PCS and was honored with the GOLD
(Global Leadership Development) Award from Motorola. He has also successfully implemented the "Customer TCS Six-Sigma" program for Motorola's customers in China to increase customer loyalty. Mr. Chong received a B.S. with Honors in Chemical Engineering from the University of Science, Penang and an MBA in Marketing from the University of Malaya, Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia.
Mr. Chong, who will be based in Shenzhen, China, will be responsible for implementing and leading similar Quality programs throughout Concord, as well as refreshing and streamlining internal processes, improving efficiencies and strengthening new product development programs.
