PNY Technologies Gives Digital Storage Solutions a Speed Boost PDF Print E-mail

New, High-Speed Compact Flash Cards and Secure Digital Cards Capture More Data Faster

Feb. 21, 2005 With the emergence of higher performance cameras and other multi-functional devices, PNY Technologies(R), Inc. introduced several, new higher-speed, higher-capacity digital storage solutions that support them. Announced today at PMA 2005

(Booth # 4172), PNY Technologies' Optima(TM) CompactFlash(TM) (CF) cards and Optima Secure Digital(TM) (SD) cards can capture, transfer and store data at sustained read/write speeds of up to 12MB/10MB per sec (80X/66X) and 10MB/8MB per sec (60X/58X), respectively.


According to John Orzepowski, marketing manager for flash media, digital entertainment and flash drives for PNY Technologies. "Removable storage devices are a common element among all hardware and personal entertainment products. PNY is prepared to offer several flash media devices and accessories in various speeds, form factors and capacities, so users can get the most out of their equipment." He added, "Especially designed for professional photographers and photo enthusiasts, our new Optima CF and SD solutions allow users to capture more pictures per second and store more images than ever before."

PNY Technologies high-speed Optima SD cards are available in 128MB, 256MB, 512MB and 1GB storage capacities, while its Optima CF cards will support 128MB, 256MB, 512MB, 1GB and 4GB. PNY's new high-speed, high-capacity Optima SD and CF cards will be available for purchase in the second quarter of 2005 from distributors and specialty photo dealers in the United States and Europe. Optima SD 1GB will carry an MSRP of $99.99 and Optima CF 4GB cards will carry an MSRP of $499.99.
