Wireless Remote Control and Enhanced Editing Tools Bring the Photo Lab to You
ORLANDO - PMA, Booth # 3032 - Feb. 19, 2005 - Printing and sharing your favorite photographs just got easier with the introduction of Sony's latest PictureStation™ DPP-FP50 at home printer.
The DPP-FP50 model features a wireless remote control that makes it possible to print, edit, and enjoy lab-quality pictures from the comfort of your favorite chair. The new model also supports the PictBridge™ standard, so images can be viewed and printed directly from a PictBridge™ compatible digital camera without having to turn on a computer or fuss with image editing software.
" Powerful editing tools and flexible operation set the new DPP-FP50 photo
printer apart from all others, providing consumers with tremendous convenience
and stunning photos while enabling them to enjoy their images on a television,"
said Hiro Takahashi, vice president for Sony Electronics' digital imaging
products.
Photo Lab in the Living Room
Since so many family memories are shared in the living room, the new printer
is designed to work well with a television. With the supplied video cable, you
can view images on a TV screen, select an image to print and, with the press of
a button, produce a print in about 60 seconds. Additionally, the new model
incorporates a Memory Stick®/Memory Stick PRO™ flash media slot as well as
Compact Flash and Secure Digital media slots for transferring images easily for
printing or sharing.

The DPP-FP50 photo printer uses dye-sublimation technology to create durable,
lab quality prints. Each print is sealed with SuperCoat 2™ laminate, which makes
photos resistant to spills, moisture and fingerprints.
Creative Editing Options
The printer also comes loaded with built-in editing options, such as red-eye
correction that identifies any red-eye problems and then enables the printer to
make the correction automatically. It features other editing tools for adjusting
image sharpness, contrast, brightness and size. The printer also has built-in
creative options for adding personalized messages, changing images to black and
white or sepia, and adding artistic borders to any print. Expected to be
available in May for about $200, the DPP-FP50 printer has a silver colored
casing and a sleek, compact design. It delivers 4" x 6" and 3.5" x 5" print
