Jan. 24 Hop-on.com, Inc. today announced that it will introduce its GSM Models 1845 and 1846 as the lowest cost camera phones in the market at the 3GSM World Congress trade show, which will run February 14 to 17, 2005 in Cannes, France.
The 3GSM World Congress is the market leader in providing an audience of GSM
decision-makers from across the globe. The GSM Association represents over 600
GSM operators globally and unites the industry in pursuing the expansion and
development of GSM technology (http://www.gsmworld.com). Dan Gannon, Chief
Executive Officer of Hop-on, commented, "These phones are comparable to any
camera phone on the market today, with the exception of price, where our phones
typically cost approximately 50% less. We have received very positive feedback
from the market on the exceptional value proposition our phones offer customers,
in addition to the high quality and feature set, and the fact that our phones
come in all languages in the European community. With GSM being the dominant
technology in Europe, we are aggressively going after this market for carrier
business and unlocked GSM phone opportunities. As an example of the size of this
market, approximately 87% of the population in the UK, representing nearly 52
million people, are currently cell phone users. With the preponderance of
prepaid phone users in Europe, where the phones are not typically subsidized,
our handsets offer these customers a compelling alternative when replacing their
handsets." Lowest cost camera phones being introduced at 3GSM World Congress are
the following:
