Monster Launches the 2nd Annual $10,000 Monster Photo Contest

July 8, 2004 Monster Photo, a division of Monster Cable Products, Inc., the world's leading manufacturer of high-end speaker, audio, video, computer cables and accessories, will start accepting entries for the 2nd Annual Monster $10,000 Monster Photo Contest on July 1, 2004. New winners and prizes will be announced every month until the contest ends on October 31, 2004.

The first contest proved to be a huge success, with thousands of photos submitted throughout the duration of the contest. The $10,000 Grand Prize winner was "Karmel's Truck," submitted by Mr. Ed Scott of Meridian, Idaho. Like the last contest, prizes for this Contest include a $10,000 cash Grand Prize, a $1,000 "Photo of the Month" prize and -- new for this contest -- several hundred dollars' worth of runner-up prizes, including those sponsored by leading national photo retailers like Norman Camera and Dury's in the form of $250, $150 and $75 "shopping sprees" at their stores.

Once again, the contest is for photography enthusiasts only (no pros). To enter, aspiring shutterbugs must buy any valid Monster Photo product and post their best shots on their very own "gallery" page at www.MonsterPhoto.com/Contest for the world and contest judges to see.

The winning entry will again be selected by an all-star panel of photography experts from the San Francisco Academy of Art College School of Photography and the editorial staff of PHOTOgraphic and eDigital Photo Magazines. Entries will be judged on merit in areas of composition/arrangement, focus/sharpness, lighting and creativity/imagination/impact-all qualities that embody the Monster Photo spirit of capturing "Life Through Pictures." Monster will eliminate any digitally manipulated photos to ensure that entries are based on the sheer merit of the photography.

With digital cameras and accessories becoming more and more popular, and with leading photo stores sponsoring the contest, Monster expects this contest to be even bigger than the first -- making it even harder to pick the winners.
